Let the Little Children Come to Me
An original Indweller sculpture depicting Christ welcoming children with love, blessing, and gentle care.
The story
Story Behind the Sculpture
This sculpture captures that tender encounter between Christ and the children who eagerly gather around Him. Rather than presenting a distant or formal figure, Christ is portrayed as approachable, compassionate, and fully present to each child before Him. His gentle posture and welcoming expression invite viewers to imagine themselves within the scene, experiencing the same love and acceptance offered by the Savior.
Each child responds to Christ in a unique way. Some approach with curiosity, others with trust, while still others simply enjoy the security of being close to Him. Together they reflect the many ways people encounter Christ throughout their lives. Regardless of age, personality, or life experience, every person is welcomed into His presence.
Whether installed at the entrance of a Catholic school, within a parish courtyard, beside a church playground, or in a prayer garden, the sculpture offers a visible reminder that Christ continues to welcome every child with open arms. It proclaims a message of hope, belonging, and unconditional love—a place where every family can encounter the words of Jesus: "Let the little children come to me."

What the details mean
Symbolism

Christ's Welcoming Embrace
Christ's open embrace expresses welcome, compassion, and acceptance. Rather than standing apart, He draws the children close, reminding us that no one is too small, too young, or too insignificant to be embraced by God's love. His gentle presence reflects the heart of the Gospel: every person is invited into a relationship with Christ.

The Children
The four children represent the universality of Christ's love. Depicting children of Caucasian, African, Hispanic, and Asian heritage, the sculpture reminds us that every child is welcomed into His embrace. Together they reflect the universal Church, where people of every nation and culture are united as one family in Christ.

The Circle of Community
Viewed from behind, the sculpture invites us to step into the scene and join those gathered around Christ. It reminds us that the Church is more than a collection of individuals—it is a community united around Jesus, where every person has a place and every child belongs.
Childlike Faith
Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God belongs to those who receive it with the trust and openness of a child. The children gathered around Him remind us that faith begins not with achievement, but with humility, confidence, and a willingness to receive God's love.

Scripture Reflection
Mark 10:14
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
These words form the heart of the sculpture. Christ's welcome reminds every child—and every adult—that God's love is freely offered to all who approach Him with openness and trust.
Matthew 19:14
"Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
The sculpture celebrates Christ's invitation to every child and reminds parents, teachers, and pastors of their sacred mission to lead young people toward Him.
Matthew 18:3
"Unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven."
The children gathered around Christ remind us that faith is rooted in humility, trust, and dependence upon God's love. Their example challenges every believer to rediscover the simplicity and confidence of childlike faith.
