The story

Story Behind the Sculpture

Created for the entrance of Good Shepherd Catholic Parish in Visalia, California, Entrance Angels turns the church façade into an invitation to worship.

Standing on either side of the entrance, the angels mark the transition from the world outside to the sacred space within. Their scrolls proclaim two complementary calls to praise.

What the details mean

Symbolism

The Two Angels

Together, the angels form a visual gateway, welcoming the faithful and drawing attention toward the church entrance.

“Laudate pueri Dominum” — Psalm 113

One scroll proclaims “Praise, you servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.” It is a call to God’s people to praise Him.

“Laudate Dominum in sanctis eius” — Psalm 150

The second scroll proclaims “Praise the Lord in his sanctuary.” Positioned at the church entrance, the words take on particular meaning as the faithful prepare to enter.

The Title — Enter His Presence

The title captures the purpose of the pair: to remind those crossing the threshold that they are entering a place dedicated to worship and encounter with God.

Created for Sacred Entrances

Entrance Angels can be adapted for church façades, entrances, vestibules, narthexes, shrines, chapels, and other sacred architectural settings.

From the Parish

“WOW! They turned out amazingly beautiful. The community is extremely happy with them and they truly complete the front façade. Thank you for such great work.”

Scripture reflection

Scripture Reflection

Psalms 113 & 150

The two inscriptions work together beautifully: a call to God’s people to praise, followed by a call to praise Him in His sanctuary.

The angels make that invitation visible before a person ever steps through the church doors.
