The story
Story Behind the Sculpture
Young Samaritan brings the parable of the Good Samaritan into the present day. A teenager reaches down to help a man in need while Christ remains quietly beside them—revealing that in serving another person, we encounter Christ Himself.
What the details mean
Symbols & Details
The Young Samaritan
The contemporary teenager reminds young people that discipleship is not reserved for adults. They are called to live the Gospel now.
The Man in Need
His vulnerable position represents those we encounter who need mercy, dignity, friendship, or practical assistance.
The Presence of Christ
Jesus sits immediately beside the man, making visible the deeper spiritual meaning of the encounter: Christ is the true force behind our acts of service.
The Outstretched Hands
The joined hands capture the moment compassion becomes action—the young person chooses to stop, reach out, and help.
A Sculpture for Youth Ministry
Young Samaritan is especially meaningful for Catholic schools, parishes, youth and young adult ministries, retreat centers, and service programs, offering a powerful visual invitation to put faith into action.

Scripture Reflection
1 Timothy 4:12
“Set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.”
Young people are not merely preparing to become disciples someday. They are capable of witnessing to Christ now through the choices they make and the way they treat others.
